Role
Immersive Co-Producer
Avi Amar is a French‐based film and immersive-media producer notable for co‐founding and leading the production company Floréal Films (also known simply as Floréal) in 2014, alongside producer Katayoun Dibamehr. Before establishing Floréal, Amar worked in production roles including at Orange Studio, where he gained experience in supporting artists and managing independent cinema projects.
Under Amar’s stewardship, Floréal has become known for championing bold, artistically innovative works across cinema and immersive (XR) formats. The company’s output includes celebrated projects such as The Hangman at Home, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival in 2020, and Goliath: Playing with Reality, awarded the Grand Jury Prize at Venice in 2021 and nominated for an Emmy in 2022. Amar has frequently emphasized his mission to “discover, support and sustain talents with a singular gaze and solid artistic ambitions,” a clear guiding principle for the company’s selection of both filmmakers and immersive creators.
Beyond his role as a business leader and producer, Amar is recognized for his commitment to new media storytelling and for bridging the cinematic and technological worlds. He operates out of Paris (and has activities linked to Montréal), positioning Floréal as a passionate advocate for cross‐format creation in film and virtual reality. His work highlights the evolving nature of production today: not only financing and logistics, but curating visionary content that resonates artistically and experientially. If you like, I can pull together a full filmography of Amar’s projects and collaborations.
